1.	Extra layer of protection against dings and scratches. Few things can break the heart of a new Mercedes owner than a ding or scratch on their glossy paint finish. A car cover adds a layer of protection to your Mercedes so the chance of a ding or a scratch is reduced.

2.	Theft deterrent – Since time is of the essence when it comes to stealing a car, a car cover is an excellent theft deterrent. Instead of taking the time to take off a car cover, they will just move on to the next uncovered car.

3.	Damaging weather – Over the years, bad weather can wreak havoc on your paint job. The sun’s rays can also fade and crack the interior on your Mercedes. But a car cover is an inexpensive and easy way to protect your Mercedes from the elements.

Call your Philadelphia, PA area Mercedes dealer to schedule your service appointment if your car needs repairs do to a lack of a car cover or any other type of maintenance.

The thermostat in your Mercedes-Benz is one of the most important parts to the engine. Without it, your car could overheat and this can lead to thousands of dollars of repair bills. But do you know how the thermostat actually works? Here is a brief description of how it helps the engine maintain a constant level.

The thermostat typically sits between the radiator and the engine. It remains closed while the engine is warming up so the engine coolant stays where it is until it is needed. Once the engine reaches a certain temperature, the thermostat opens up and allows the coolant to flow into the radiator to keep it from getting too hot.

Your Mercedes thermostat can be affected by a number of problems. A failing water pump or leaking coolant can affect or damage the thermostat so it does not do its job properly. That’s why it’s so important to get your thermostat checked regularly. Some auto experts suggest getting the thermostat changed every couple years just to ensure that it is always in proper working order. The actual thermostat and its replacement is rather easy and inexpensive, but neglecting it could cause a great deal of damage.

Do you want to get your thermostat and cooling system checked on your Benz? Visit your Philadelphia area Mercedes-Benz dealer for a complete service checkup for peace of mind.

Earlier this month, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week took place on some of the most recognized runways in there world. Following are some facts about those runways and some of the designs that were presented during this iconic and popular event.

Michael Angel
This graphic spring runway was offered by Aussie designer Michael Angel and drew inspiration from women like Josephine Baker and Nancy Cunard. The collection turned out to be “quirky and pretty” and upbeat. Skirts were varied – some were “flasher short” while others were just imply “unpredictable.” Prints included “floral and faceted gems” with “heavy doses of bling on sleeves” and other interesting choices made by the designer.

BCBG Runway
Max Azria’s popular runway was the place to be if you enjoy seeing bold colors that will be all the rage next spring. Pool blue was the most popular option for this runway, but teal, fuchsia and neutrals were also quite popular. There were also a number of t-shirt style dresses as well as body-conscious designs that varied from the super mini to “billowy maxi jobs” and others.

Ports 1961
This runway featured a number of Asian-looking designs from designer Tia Cibani. Red eye shadow combined with pale lavender designs made a huge splash as did body-skimming sheaths, blossom prints and other unique dresses.

There are several ways to enjoy the Mercedes-Benz lifestyle. If you’re not a model, you can still appreciate the elitist feeling and exclusivity of the luxury lifestyle if you just schedule a test drive at your Philadelphia area Mercedes dealer today!

Philadelphia is known for the big bash that it throws for St. Patrick’s Day. Can you think of any better way to enjoy the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day in Philadelphia than with a new or used Mercedes-Benz? There are, however, some things to keep in mind so you can enjoy the green holiday to the fullest. Here are some tips to remember so everybody will have a fun and memorable St. Patrick’s Day.

•	Be sure to have a designated driver. Drinking is a lot more fun if you have someone designated to drive who is completely sober. Then you don’t have to worry about getting home safely. Plan this out ahead of time so nobody’s holiday gets ruined.
•	Pace your drinking. If you’re one of the lucky partygoers that get to drink, don’t do it all at once. Pace yourself throughout the night to avoid alcohol poisoning or other problems that could ruin the evening.
•	Only drink drinks that you have handled yourself. People these days will put things in your drink to make you unconscious so they can rob your or do something worse. This is especially important if you are a woman.

So get your Mercedes vehicles all shined up and ready to go for March 17. Just be sure to stay safe and use some common sense while you’re having fun.

If you’re driving your certified cars carelessly, you could be spending more money in gas than you need to. Since gas prices have dropped in recent months, fewer people are paying attention gas-saving techniques. Here are some eco-driving tips that you can use each day when driving your certified used cars so you can grow accustomed to saving money on fuel in case the prices go back up again.

•	Tighten your gas cap. This might not seem important, but a lot of fuel can evaporate and escape through the opening if your gas cap isn’t tight. If you have the type of cap that clicks, make sure it clicks a couple times after putting it back on.
•	Keep your tires properly inflated. You’d be surprised how much more efficient your car can be when you tires are inflated properly. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended PSI for best results in safety and efficiency.
•	Keep up with the maintenance. A well-maintained car runs more efficiently. Make sure you do the scheduled oil changes, tune-ups, tire rotations and everything else.

Whether you want to drive new or used Mercedes vehicles, these tips will help you put more money in your pocket instead of in the fuel pumps.

The Eagles have had a truly memorable season and any fan of football is sure to enjoy their performance at the remainder of this year’s home games.

Once you arrive at a game in your Benz Mercedes, the pre-game celebration is sure to ignite your fire to root for the home team. Lincoln Financial Field is one of the most energetic stadiums in the NFL and Philadelphia is filled with some of the biggest sports fans in the country, too. One thing they enjoy doing is tailgating outside the stadium when the Philadelphia Eagles are playing. You probably wouldn’t want to use your Benz Mercedes vehicles for this purpose, but you could find some other tailgaters and create some new friendships.

If you go in the stadium, you can experience a variety of fun events. Live pre-game shows are sure to get you excited as you eat good old-fashioned hot dogs from the concession stand or something else reminiscent of ball parks. Just arrive about two hours before game time and you can have a great time!

In many ways, cigar smoking is a sign of sophistication. Cigar bars have become fashionable, and celebrities from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Demi Moore are associated with the cigar movement. At any given cigar bar, you’re likely to find a number of Mercedes vehicles, often driven by the area’s most prominent figures.

Philadelphia has a number of interesting cigar bars. If you’re looking for an evening out on the town, why not drive your Mercedes to one of these locations:

The Vault at Ritz Carlton

Located at Ten Avenue of the Arts, this upscale lounge features amazingly colored tapestries and warm wood décor. You actually enter this establishment via the vault door for the original Girard Bank. The Vault features a number of fine cordials and classic cocktails, as well.

Liberties

Liberties is located at 705 North Second Street. This cigar bar is a part of living Philadelphia history. The façade is historically accurate, and it features a rich walnut interior. The interior fixtures date from the mid nineteenth century, and create a truly Victorian atmosphere.

Fox and Hound Smokehouse and Tavern

The Fox and Hound is at 1501 Spruce Street. Less refined but much more exciting than some of the other cigar bars in Philadelphia, this tavern features televised sports and fried foods. The atmosphere is more casual, and you’re as likely to find ball caps as you are suits and ties.

Mahogany on Walnut

This is, in many ways, the ultimate cigar bar in Philadelphia. Located at 1524 Walnut Street, Mahogany on Walnut features not only cigars and cocktails, but light dining and deserts, as well.

Bussola Trattoria and Lounge

This cigar bar is found at 3rd Street and Girard. It offers patrons Tuscan cuisine, as well as gelato martinis and Italian wines. Atop the restaurant you’ll find The Stogie Haven Cigar Lounge.

Each of these establishments features its own unique ambiance. Whether you smoke cigars as an occasional luxury, or whether you consider yourself a true cigar aficionado, these cigar bars are the best place in Philly to drive your Mercedes Benz vehicle and light up.

If you want a night out on the town in your Mercedes Benz vehicle, why not consider a visit to Downtown West Chester?

Nestled in the heart of the Brandywine Valley, downtown West Chester reflects the small-town charm and cosmopolitan tastes that prompted The Philadelphia Inquirer to call West Chester ". . . one of the world's most perfect small towns" (July 26, 2001).

Downtown West Chester has a thoroughly fascinating history. It was founded in 1769 when the Turks Head Inn opened, offering a refreshment stop to travelers. In 1788 it became the seat for Chester County, and it was incorporated as a borough in 1799.

The whole of the downtown West Chester district is on the National Register of Historic Places. You can drive your Mercedes vehicle past the Greek Revival architecture along high street, or view some of the more than 3,000 buildings that date all the way back to the colonial days.

Many famous figures have spent time in West Chester. The great folk artist Horace Pippin lived and painted in West Chester. Samuel barber, best known for his Adagio for String Orchestra, was born and raised in West Chester. Abraham Lincoln started his quest for the presidency here, as well. Eva Marie Saint and Claude Raines spent some of their days in West Chester, as well.

There are more than 25 restaurants in downtown West Chester. You can enjoy haute cuisine, a micro brewery, coffee shops and even a light lunch. Many of the restaurants in West Chester offer evening entertainment, as well.

You’ll find many other interesting establishments on your visit to downtown West Chester. The main streets feature a number of shopping opportunities, from apparel to art to antiques. There are jewelry shops, galleries, and collectible stores, as well.

There are plenty of activities in downtown West Chester to keep you busy, as well. For example, you might enjoy Lunchtime Concert at the Court House or Swingin' Summer Thursdays. Saturdays feature a grower’s market, as well.

If you’re looking for something to do with your family in Philadelphia for the weekend, look no further. Here are three popular and kid friendly things to do in Philly, so pack climb into the Benz and explore.
Phillies Defend Their NL East Championship

For the first time in 14 years the Philadelphia Phillies stepped up to the plate and advanced to the Major League Baseball playoffs in 2007. With an incredible roster in 2008, this year might be the year for the Phillies. Visit the recently built Citizens Bank Park where there isn’t a bad seat in the stadium and take the kids to the Phanatics Fun Zone where they can play in the biggest play area in the Major Leagues.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the Phillies experience is the food. Voted Best Ballpark Eats in the Food Network Awards, Citizens Bank Park has something for everyone. From cheese steaks at Rick’s Steaks to Crab Fries at Chickie’s and Pete’s to roast pork sandwiches at Tony Luke’s — whatever you do, arrive hungry.

Baseball As America Exhibit

There’s more than just Phillies games for baseball fans in Philadelphia this spring. The Baseball As America exhibit is on until May 11th and it features more than 500 artifacts from America’s favorite pastime’s history.
The first major exhibition of its kind, Baseball As America has a special section devoted to Philly’s rich baseball history. From the spikes Richie Ashburn wore in 1950 to Jimmy Rollins' helmet from the legendary 36-game hit streak to the 1980 Phillies World Championship ring, it’s a fascinating trip down memory lane for ball fans young and old.

Dad Vail Regatta

Visit the 70th racing of the Philadelphia tradition, the Dad Vail Regatta. This epic rowing event is the largest in the country and Philly welcomes over 3,500 athletes from over 100 teams across North America from May 9-10.
Witness the spectacle as crowds of over 10,000 watch two days of exciting racing. Make sure to come prepared, though — during the regatta Kelly Drive is closed, so you’ll have to park the Benz the Art Museum or Boathouse Row and take the shuttle bus to the grandstands.

If you want to get your Mercedes ready for summer, visit your Philadelphia Mercedes dealers, Mercedes – Fort Washington, PA, or Mercedes Benz of Wilmington, DE to perform your routine maintenance and get your vehicle in tip top shape just in time for cruising season.

In a world of ever increasing fuel costs and environmental awareness, Mercedes has stepped up to offer a greener alternative to the traditional Mercedes vehicle. Of course, they do so while still maintaining the luxury, comfort, and style Mercedes has become famous for. Enter the Mercedes A-Class, a fun alternative to the common hatchback with incredible gas mileage and the same Mercedes look and feel.

The Mercedes A-Class comes in either a three door or five door configuration and is available in either a diesel or traditional gasoline version. The Mercedes A-150 has a 4 cylinder 1.5 L engine and can attain 95 hp and 140 lb-feet of torque, while it tops out at a top speed of 109 miles per hour. The Mercedes A 200 has a 4 cylinder 2.0 L engine providing 136 hp and 185 lb-feet of torque, and will attain a top speed of 124 mph. Finally, the Mercedes A 200 Turbo will give drivers that extra boost with a 4 cylinder 2.0 L turbo engine with 193 hp and 280 lb-feet of torque, reaching a top speed of 141 mph.

The real story here though is the fuel efficiency of each model. The fuel efficiency will obviously decrease as one moves towards a bigger engine, and will depend on whether or not the model came with a manual or automatic transmission. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard with the A 150 and A 200 models, with a 5-speed automatic transmission is also available. For the A 200 Turbo, a 6-speed manual transmission is standard with an automatic transmission also available as an option.

Looking at the automatic transmissions, the A 200 Turbo gets an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway, the A 200 gets 29 mpg /48 mpg, and the A 150 gets an amazing 36 mpg in the city and 52 mpg on the highway. With fuel costs rising all over the world and an increasing customer concern about the environmental impact of gas guzzling cars, the Mercedes A-Class is coming onto the market at just the right time to please European buyers.

While the Mercedes A-Class is not yet available in North America, there are lots of other North American luxury Mercedes you can choose from. Stop by your local Philadelphia Mercedes Benz dealers, your Fort Washington Mercedes Benz dealers or your Wilmington DE Mercedes Benz dealers to test drive your next luxury vehicle or visit the website for new inventory, pricing and more.
