Topping Off Fluids In Your Mercedes
Fluid levels in your Mercedes are key to making sure everything runs just right at all times. While you can always let your mechanic fill your fluids, there are some fluids that are pretty easy to top off on your own. Here are a few of the important fluids that keep your Mercedes going down the road:
Brake Fluid
Brake fluid helps protect your brakes from corrosion and keep them lubricated. Your vehicle’s manual should tell you what type of brake fluid your vehicle uses, and how to check it. Every 30,000 miles or so, you should “bleed” your brakes – that is, you should drain your brake fluid and replace it.
Power Steering Fluid
This fluid helps with the maneuverability of your vehicle. Generally speaking you can check your power steering fluid by locating a cap labeled “power steering” under the hood. Again, you’ll want to check your owner’s manual to make sure you’ve got the right type of power steering fluid to top off your vehicle.
Wiper Fluid
Wiper fluid, sometimes called window washer fluid, is basically a mix of glass cleaner and water. The wiper fluid tank is generally large and should be relatively obvious to locate and top off. If you live in a colder climate, make sure to use wiper fluid that is rated for colder temperatures. Obviously, this is one of the easiest fluids to top off.
Oil
Oil is what keeps your engine running smooth and clean. Certainly you can change your own oil, but it is generally not too expensive to have it done for you either. Your local Buick Pontiac GMC dealership can change your oil and help you decide which oil is best, as well.
Coolant
Engine coolant keeps your vehicle from getting too hot. If you don’t have enough coolant, you can permanently damage your engine. You can top off your engine coolant via your radiator or, in most new models, via an overflow reservoir tank. Just make sure you have the right mix of coolant for your vehicle.
Battery Fluid
If you have a battery that’s not sealed, you may need to refill your battery fluid. To do this, uncover the refill hole of your battery, and check to see how the fluid looks. If the battery fluid is below the refill line, add distilled water.

Great page. Well, car fluids are really like human body enzymes that aid in the functions of the organs of our body. If we failed to maintain it, like saliva for example, we’ll have hard time to digest our food. In cars, if break fluids are not maintained, danger could arise like loss of break.
