Characteristics of Successful CEOs

Successful CEOs have more in common with one another than a nice Mercedes. Successful CEOs share certain traits that enable them to do the job they do.

Some of the characteristics of successful CEOs are internal. For example, successful CEOs are self-assured. They are tenacious when it comes to pursuing goals. They are honest. They are original. They’re detail oriented. They’re flexible, and they’re competitive. While not every successful CEO has these internal characteristics, most will share at least a few of these qualities.

Successful CEOs know how best to interact with people, too. They are always in control of their temper and their attitude, and show it. They think before they speak. They tend to be modest, but know when it’s time to boast. They have a good sense of humor and a great sense of style. They are willing to lead. They fight for their people. They are nice. They are straightforward. They ask questions, but not too many. They’re also good storytellers.

Good CEOs aren’t born, they are made. It is absolutely possible to cultivate these characteristics. While not all of them are essential to success as a CEO, each has ways that it helps keep you at the top of your game.

Reviewers Take AMG Cars for a Spin

A few years ago, the reviewers at Edmunds drove some AMG cars as part of the AMG Challenge. It was an exciting experience for each driver involved as they arrived at the California Speedway in Fontana early in the morning to drive some high-performance AMG cars around the track.

The day started off with a breakfast provided by Mercedes-Benz. According to the article writer, “Mercedes-Benz knows how to do meals like it knows how to make cars.” During the breakfast time, the reviewers met the team leaders and they discussed their driving resumes. Tommy Kendall was the special guest, too.

After breakfast, the guys were ready to jump into their Mercedes AMG cars. Their goal: To gain a “better understanding of car control, vehicle dynamics and braking techniques” and to see “what it takes to really hustle a car around a racetrack quickly and consistently.” The instructors for the reviewers also said they would have a new appreciation for AMG cars and the “adrenaline rush” they receive when sitting behind the wheel and going over 100 mph. That feeling is just typical with any AMG performance vehicle, though.

We’ll pick up where we left off on this story on Friday. Until then, why not check out some AMG cars for yourself? There’s nothing else like it in the world!

Buying a Used Mercedes-Benz Can Be a Reality

Getting a loan for a used Mercedes-Benz in today’s financial market could be difficult. The banks are getting tighter with their money and they are being stricter about the credit standards.

If you’re thinking about getting another car, though, a used Mercedes-Benz is a better option. They are more affordable than a new Mercedes-Benz since the previous owner or owners have already suffered the depreciated value. And since they are more affordable, many dealers right now are stocking their lots with used Mercedes vehicles to gain a larger customer base.

Even affluent consumers are turning to the used Mercedes-Benz market for their next luxury vehicle. Instead of getting a loan from a bank to pay for a new one, they opt for the used Mercedes-Benz so they can pay cash without the hassle of dealing with the current credit crisis.

Another reason that used cars are becoming so popular is because they are losing the stigma that they once had. Do you remember when buying a used car was a no-no? It wasn’t that long ago. But with programs like the certified used Mercedes-Benz and others, used cars no longer have the negative stigma that they had merely 10 or 15 years ago.

Don’t be afraid of getting a used Mercedes-Benz this season. They are much less expensive than buying a new Benz and they have nearly the same quality and features, too.

Certified Used Cars are Comparable Alternative to Hybrids

These days, hybrids seem to be all the rage. Everybody thinks a hybrid is the best option when buying cars regardless of the cost. But did you know many certified used cars are a comparable alternative if you don’t have the tens of thousands of dollars to afford a hybrid?

Hybrids are great for helping reduce pollution. However, they still use gasoline and they often increase your fuel economy by a few miles. Unfortunately, that doesn’t really offset the extra thousands of dollars in price for many, many years.

So what’s an environmentally-conscious car buyer to do? Certified used cars are nearly as good as a hybrid. One main difference, however, is the price. You can save twenty or even thirty thousand dollars on one of these cars and still get a great warranty to boot.

Certified Mercedes vehicles get great gas mileage. It might not be as good as a hybrid, but it’s close. In fact, you might even find some hybrid certified used cars in the next couple years as people start trading them in for newer models.

If you can’t afford the cost of a hybrid, don’t get distressed. There are other options out there that won’t destroy the environment. Check some out today!

All about the Mercedes AMG Logo

There’s no doubt that you’ve seen the famous AMG logo on several cars and products in your lifetime. We usually look at things like this and never give them a second thought. But the Mercedes AMG logo actually has a long history and an underlying meaning to it.

The evolution of the Mercedes AMG symbol began in 1909 when Benz and DMG merged to produce vehicles following the start of the 20th century. When they merged, they became Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes AMG logo became the symbol of the new company. It consisted of a three-pointed star much like the one we know today. Each point represented power over something – land, sea and air. To the creators and the automakers at the time, it symbolized the company’s reliability, workmanship and speed.

In addition to that, the Mercedes AMG logo included the letters AMG, which stood for the three inventors of AMG performance vehicles – Aufrecht Melcher Grossapach. The Mercedes AMG logo and the official AMG logo is almost always shown with the Mercedes logo because they represent a partnership to create the fastest and best cars in the industry.

So the next time you see this logo, maybe you’ll think of what it stands for. If not, take an AMG performance vehicle for a drive and you will undoubtedly know that it stands for quality.

Three Tips for Keeping Your Used Mercedes-Benz Looking Like New

If you’re going to invest in a used Mercedes-Benz, you don’t want it to look used. Even if it’s an older model, you want it to look like you just drove it off the showroom floor. We know the feeling. That’s why we’re offering you the following tips to help you keep your used Mercedes-Benz looking spectacular so you can continue to impress the people on the roads.

Use a car cover. Even if you have a garage, there will be times when you won’t be able to park inside. Covering your used Mercedes-Benz with a car cover each night or when you pull into work each day will help the paint keep its shine by protecting it from the elements. Rain water, bird droppings and other factors are your car’s enemy.

Wash your car regularly. Ideally, you should wash your used Mercedes-Benz about once a week. This is especially critical in the winter months when you drive through the salt, slush and snow. In the warmer months, it just feels good to drive around in a clean car, doesn’t it?

Wax your car a few times each year. People tend to forget about waxing their car these days. However, it’s one of the best ways to protect the finish and keep it sparkling. A good wax job will also repel water and prevent the car from rusting anytime soon.

Use these three tips for your used Mercedes vehicles and you should be able to enjoy a good shine for many years to come.

Thief Steals Man’s AMG Car from Under His Nose

This story just goes to show that you can’t trust anybody. Clive Davison, a resident of Moorgate, Rotherham in the UK, was selling his Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG performance car. He did what any good businessman would do: He went on a test drive with a man who was “interested” in buying the car.

The test drive was fine. The man who took the MB for a test drive the vehicle even showed up in a brand new BMW. Even the most savvy businessman wouldn’t have suspected the worst from someone like this. When they returned back to the seller’s home, however, that’s when things got interesting.

Both men got out of the car. Davison walked towards the garage so he could open the door. When he did that, the “buyer” jumped back in the car and took off. “I was just left stood there thinking, ‘Did that really happen?’” said Davison in an interview with a local newspaper. “He must have been doing 50 mph before he even reached the end of the street.”

Unfortunately, a police chase was called off before they could catch the man due to safety issues. This particular AMG car has a top speed of about 150 mph.

Mercedes AMG Plans to Cut Emissions

In an effort to be more eco-friendly and appeal to the “green” sense of even performance car enthusiast, the Mercedes AMG division is making plans to cut emissions on future models. And those plans may take effect sooner than you think.

According to Car Magazine Online, Mercedes AMG is creating a “mild-hybrid petrol-electric model with start-stop technology, energy recuperation and on-demand functionality” that it plans to unveil by the end of the decade. The new technology in the Mercedes AMG vehicles will preserve AMG performance while reducing emissions by about 30 percent. The new engines also borrow ideas and technology from the new S400 BlueHybrid model which has created a buzz in the automotive industry.

A spokesperson for Mercedes AMG had this to say about the new hybrid performance vehicles: “Although hybrids normally mean more weight, we’ll use our knowledge of lightweight material to offset this increase. And don’t forget, AMG is all about torque, and electric engines develop their torque at standstill.”

The engineers and designers at Mercedes AMG have also tossed around the idea of creating diesel AMG vehicles and other types. However, they need to do more research to see if it’s economically feasible before creating any plans.
