GLK Benz Mercedes Great for Winter Driving
What would your answer be if I asked you the following question: Which automaker manufactures the most 4×4 models?
I’m thinking your first answer wouldn’t be Mercedes-Benz. But did you know you’d be wrong? There are 50 Benz Mercedes models that offer 4×4 models, more than any other automaker today. And ten of those 4×4 models are included in the E-Class segment alone.
But this spring, Benz Mercedes is introducing its 51st 4WD vehicle in the compact SUV it has named the GLK. The GLK by Benz Mercedes was first manufactured for the German armed forces. It was offered to the public in 1979. This is when the Benz Mercedes 4WD history began. In 1987, the E-Class segment of Mercedes-Benz was the first to carry the “4Matic” label that gives more modern 4WD capabilities in 50 Benz Mercedes models today.
A review of the upcoming GLK was favorable, too. The driver reviewing the compact SUV took it to the Tyrolean ski resort where it was “responsive to turns of the steering wheel as it went over the snowy road.” It also has electronic stabilization systems that apply the brakes to individual wheels as needed. It’s an intuitive system that anticipates and reduces driver mistakes.
Check out these new Mercedes vehicles at a local dealer once they hit the market. Once winter arrives and you are behind the wheel of a GLK, you’ll be glad you invested you money in one of Benz’s 4×4 rides.
