Car Care Tips for Your Certified Used Cars
Reader’s Digest recently published an article entitled, “74 Car Care Tips to Keep Your Automobile in Top-Notch Condition.” We don’t have room to repeat all 74 of those tips for your certified used cars, here are a few of the more practical and viable suggestions.
1. Don’t get gas if you see the tanker. When gas stations are getting their tanks refilled, the vibrations often cause sediment and debris to float into the existing fuel. Go to another station or come back the next day for cleaner gas.
2. Keep your key chain light. You probably know someone who has a key chain loaded down with keys. This is bad for the ignition because it adds undue pressure. Going over bumps only makes it worse because the key chain bounces. Keep the keys on your key chain to a minimum so you don’t need to replace the ignition anytime soon.
3. Keep a log. By simply recording when you fill your gas tank and your mileage per tank, you can determine if your car is losing mileage. This is often an early warning sign of something wrong so consider mentioning it to your mechanic.
