Becoming a Part of the Mercedes Family, Part One

June 03, 2008 | | Comments 0

Mercedes-BenzBuying a Mercedes is much more than simply acquiring a vehicle. By choosing a Mercedes-Benz, you have also become part of a family with a long and illustrious history. Being a Mercedes owner entitles you to certain benefits and perks that can help you save money or simply enjoy life a little bit more. Although these benefits were likely explained at your time of purchase, that was probably an exciting and confusing time, and you may have forgotten some of the perks. Here, then, is an overview, as explained on the Mercedes-Benz official website.

Customer Care Center
If you only memorize one detail regarding your new Mercedes, it should be this: 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES. This toll free number is your ticket to Mercedes’ unparalleled customer service. Wondering whether your Mercedes is due for an oil change? Call the number. Need help routing your next road trip? Call at least two weeks before you leave. Have a flat tire? Run out of gas? Need a battery jump? Again, help is just a phone call away. If you become disabled and need adaptive equipment installed in your Mercedes, make sure you call first. You may eligible for a special reimbursement program. You can also call with any questions you have about your current Mercedes or any other model you may be considering.

Tele Aid
If your Mercedes is equipped with Tele Aid, you won’t even need to go through the trouble of making a phone call. If you are in trouble, just push the SOS button to summon help to your exact location, pinpointed by satellite. If you need Roadside Assistance, push the wrench button. If you have any questions at all, just push the “I” button to be connected to a Response Specialist, 24 hours a day.

Of course, being a part of the Mercedes Family means much more than access to helpful information. Tomorrow we will discuss Mercedes’ extensive Owners’ website and other perks. If you want to connect with other Mercedes owners and share your experiences, be sure to check out Mercedes’ official blog, as well as one of my favorite unofficial blogs, BenzInsider. Don’t forget to sign up for our Mercedes newsletter as well.
