Monthly Mercedes-Benz Maintenance

August 16, 2010 | | Comments 0

Your Mercedes Benz is a fine-tuned, well-engineered machine. Still, it needs to be taken to a Mercedes Benz service shop to keep running in optimal condition. Between those service intervals, it’s a good idea to do some basic maintenance and inspections on your own.

One thing you’ll want to do on a monthly basis is to check the fluids in your Mercedes. While your Mercedes has sensors that will tell you when you’re low on fluids, it doesn’t hurt to take a few minutes to check on your own just in case one of those sensors stops working properly. You’ll want to check your oil, your brake fluid, your radiator fluid, your transmission fluid, your windshield wiper fluid and your power steering fluid.

Along with checking fluids, you’ll want to check under your car for leaks. while your air conditioner will probably leak water on a regular basis, you shouldn’t have any other puddles underneath your Mercedes.

You should also check your tires monthly. You should us a tire gauge and make sure they’re inflated to the proper level. Having tires that are over inflated or under inflated can not only be dangerous, it can also lessen your gas mileage.

It’s also a good idea to take a look at your belts and hoses. Open the hood of your Mercedes and look for any cracking or wear on your belts. Check to see that your hoses seem to be attached just fine, and that the ends aren’t cracked or frayed.
