Mercedes-Benz Increasing Fuel Economy

While Mercedes-Benz vehicles are known for their quality and their style, one thing they’re not necessarily known for is their fuel efficiency. If there’s one area that Mercedes has taken a hit in recent years in the media, it has been in that area. However, the designers at Mercedes-Benz are working hard to reduce the environmental impact of their cars, and to become more green overall.

One of the changes coming is that Mercedes-Benz will be offering a hybrid option in each model area by the year 2010. Some models will actually be made available with a three-cylinder engine, which provides amazing gains in fuel economy.

The three-cylinder engine for Mercedes-Benz vehicles would probably be relegate to the A-Class and B-Class Mercedes, as well as the Smart ForTwo Mercedes.

Mercedes is also making advances in their larger vehicles, looking into more fuel efficient ways to power them.
