Test Driving the 2009 MB SL63: The Pinnacle of AMG Performance
When talking about the Mercedes AMG performance and design, it doesn’t get much better than the 2009 SL63. One reviewer took this awesome car for a test drive recently. Here are some of the highlights from that review.
• The 2009 SL63 has been updated since the previous model year. It has “revised styling” and it encompasses the idea behind AMG performance with nearly 520 horsepower, 6.2-liter V8 engine under the hood.
• This AMG performance model starts out at a price of about $133,000 and tops out at more than $153,000 with all the bells and whistles.
• On the highway, the SL63 gets about 19 miles to the gallon and about 12 mpg in the city.
• In the reviewer’s words, the SL63 is “stupid,” but, as he explains, it’s in “a good way, as in stuid powerful.”
• This model can go from zero to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds.
• For the 2009 model, the Mercedes crew revised the interior with more stylish features than previous models. A new steering wheel, better controls for the climate and impressive stereo system and dashboard gauges make the inside spectacular.
There’s so much more to this AMG performance vehicle than what I’ve listed here. Come back on Friday for more!
