Topping Off Fluids In Your Mercedes
Fluid levels in your Mercedes are key to making sure everything runs just right at all times. While you can always let your mechanic fill your fluids, there are some fluids that are pretty easy to top off on your own. Here are a few of the important fluids that keep your Mercedes going down the road:
Brake Fluid
Brake fluid helps protect your brakes from corrosion and keep them lubricated. Your vehicle’s manual should tell you what type of brake fluid your vehicle uses, and how to check it. Every 30,000 miles or so, you should “bleed” your brakes – that is, you should drain your brake fluid and replace it.
Power Steering Fluid
This fluid helps with the maneuverability of your vehicle. Generally speaking you can check your power steering fluid by locating a cap labeled “power steering” under the hood. Again, you’ll want to check your owner’s manual to make sure you’ve got the right type of power steering fluid to top off your vehicle.
Wiper Fluid
Wiper fluid, sometimes called window washer fluid, is basically a mix of glass cleaner and water. The wiper fluid tank is generally large and should be relatively obvious to locate and top off. If you live in a colder climate, make sure to use wiper fluid that is rated for colder temperatures. Obviously, this is one of the easiest fluids to top off.
Oil
Oil is what keeps your engine running smooth and clean. Certainly you can change your own oil, but it is generally not too expensive to have it done for you either. Your local Buick Pontiac GMC dealership can change your oil and help you decide which oil is best, as well.
Coolant
Engine coolant keeps your vehicle from getting too hot. If you don’t have enough coolant, you can permanently damage your engine. You can top off your engine coolant via your radiator or, in most new models, via an overflow reservoir tank. Just make sure you have the right mix of coolant for your vehicle.
Battery Fluid
If you have a battery that’s not sealed, you may need to refill your battery fluid. To do this, uncover the refill hole of your battery, and check to see how the fluid looks. If the battery fluid is below the refill line, add distilled water.
If you’re not comfortable checking topping off fluids on your own, the folks at your Mercedes dealer near Lawrenceville are here and ready to help you out.
The Fuel Efficient Mercedes SUV
When you think of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the first thing to come to mind isn’t necessarily fuel efficiency. Mercedes is at the top of the list when it comes to reliability, style and luxury, but now the biggest of the best actually comes in with an amazing fuel rating.

Take a look at the 2009 Mercedes GL320 SUV. This seven passenger SUV diesel gets better mileage than many five passenger sedans. This vehicle is rated at 17 miles per gallon in the city, and 23 on the highway. That’s better mileage than many other vehicles, including six cylinder minivans.

The secret is, in part, due to the 3 liter direct injection engine. This vehicle has advanced pollution control, and can be sold in all 50 states.
If you want a fuel efficient vehicle that is also the top of the line when it comes to luxury, check out the 2009 Mercedes GL320 today.
Pothole Problems
Potholes are one of the most frustrating things you can encounter in your Mercedes vehicle. Potholes can be more than just annoying; they can be dangerous, and they can cause damage to your vehicle. Driving over even the smallest of potholes at full speed can cause damage to your alignment, rims, tires, and your suspension. It may cause you to lose control of the vehicle, and even swerving to avoid a pothole can cause a problem.
What is it that causes potholes? To understand, it is important to understand a little bit about the road surface. The surface of the road is a multi-layer structure. There is the soil or sub-grade. Crushed rock or gravel is often the sub-base layer. On top of all of that is the asphalt, a petroleum-like material.
During the winter months, the pavement is constantly freezing and thawing. In addition, traffic is constantly wearing on the pavement. Eventually, cracks form. When the road thaws, water gets into those cracks. When the pavement freezes, the water expands, causing the pavement to actually rise. This causes a divot to be formed underneath the pavement surface. When this happens, the pavement breaks and a pothole forms.
The best way to avoid potholes is just to be aware of your road surroundings. You should also make sure to follow behind other cars at a safe distance. If they swerve or break to avoid a pothole, you want to be ready for it.
If you’ve hit a pothole and your Mercedes needs some attention, come and see your Flemington area Mercedes dealer today.

Mercedes Power
Mercedes is at the top of its game when it comes to making quality and reliable vehicles. While Mercedes-Benz vehicles are certainly known for their luxury, there are also Mercedes models that can take you just about anywhere you want to go.

Take, for example, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz G-Class. This vehicle was first developed back in the 1970s, and set to compete against the Jeep. Today’s G-Class has a turbocharged 5.5 liter V8 engine. The engine puts out 382 horsepower, and gives you true, raw power. In addition, it will go from zero to 60 in right around six seconds, which is truly amazing for a vehicle in this class.

The 2009 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is used in many places in the world by armed forces. You can also buy a G-Class for yourself at your local Mercedes dealer.
The Virtual Personal Assistant
For some time now, executives who are too busy to juggle everything by themselves have relied on personal assistants. A personal assistant might do everything from coordinating travel arrangements to shopping to scheduling service on the Mercedes-Benz. A personal assistant gives the executive a resource whereby he or she can manage all the disparate pieces of their life in a more effective way.
Today, the world of personal assistance is changing. No longer does the personal assistant have to be chained to the executive’s side, waiting for something to do and being paid even when there is nothing to do. Now, there are virtual personal assistants who perform the same sorts of tasks as a traditional personal assistant, but the do it remotely.
The idea of a virtual assistant isn’t new. In fact, offices have been using virtual assistants for a long time. Many smaller companies, for example, have used virtual assistants for things like bookkeeping, office administration and event management. The virtual personal assitant takes this same idea and applies it to the personal assistant realm.

Getting Your Mercedes Aligned
An alignment is one of the most common types of service you may need on your Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The fact of the matter is that just about any vehicle will, at some point, need to have to be aligned. It’s important to understand, however, what exactly an alignment is.
An alignment is the process that your mechanic uses to get our wheels back into the position they are supposed to be in. Your wheels need to be parallel to one another, and your tires need to hit the road in a specific way. Over time, your wheels will get out of place. Everything from potholes to rough roads to general wear and tear contribute to this misalignment of your wheels.
When your vehicle begins to pull one direction when you’re driving across a straight road, it can indicate a problem with your alignment. This can be caused by other things, as well, such as improper inflation of your tires.
Another way to tell you need an alignment is if your tires have uneven wear, or if your tread is stripped or frayed.
If you show any signs of needing an alignment, make sure you call and schedule your service right away.
